Memories of Us
And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
University of Boston, an amazing college full of bright and intelligent students not to mention it has quite the reputation for the good run on sports, but it was a college that this large group of six friends had always planned on going too. It was close to home and they knew they could all be together. The first couple of months of freshman year were great and it was like senior year all over again, but the six had all taken different courses and gained new friends and by Christmas the six were hardly seeing each other. Antoinette and Natasha had definitely been torn apart by a popularity contest, Chris had become an arrogant jock, Owen a troublemaker who was looking at getting kicked out, and Tristan, well he was still maintaining his reputation as a heart breaker. And Alex? Well she had taken a backseat, watching this happen to people who she wanted to call a family.
So if we get the big jobs and we make the big money
When we look back now, will that joke still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still be trying to break every single rule
Will big shot Christopher make it to the real big stands?
Can Tasha find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly[/color]
It then occurred to her, that this couldn’t go on. A group of six best friends were now close to not even looking at each other on the corridors, sure they all had plenty of friends but it wasn’t the same. Alex had to do something about it, so that’s when she started it. A scrap book. “Making Memories of Us” that was what she called it, but she needed all the help she could get with it. Her friends? Well they were so wrapped up in their own popularity contests it was going to be a lot harder than it sounded.
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there? Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end
And suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
College, far more trouble than its worth, each of the group has their own problems, troubles, dramas going on do they really need each other? Like their new friends are going to want to lose them. Maybe its time we put all the popularity contests aside and focus on more important college things like
As we go on, we remember
All the times we had together
And as our lives change, from whatever
We will still be, friends forever
